Demented Confessions 18 – Caught

Caught 2

Fish, mouse, poet,

hooked and guillotined,

snagged and gridded and greened,

caught in the act,

From before the beginning

there was no possibility of escape.

I learned to love the pointy end,

confess with blood and colours on my tongue

and be still.

Poem and art by clinock.

Caught. 8″ x 8″ (20 x 20 cm). Mixed media relief in cradled panel.

  1. ‘From before the beginning…’ Talk about the background to an act!
    And ‘no possibility of escape.’
I’m intrigued with the use of your word ‘green.’
A mysterious enchantment and rather conclusive.
Is there a ‘non-ending’ to this ending?

    1. Yes – non-ending like a circle.
The rains came and the grass greened.
This one has to be mad because it’s March,
Mysterious because sometimes I barely understand either

  2. ps John. since your comments are moderated I will add something here that you can delete after. I can’t ‘Like’ this post because no matter how many times It (my ‘like’) registers it then ‘unregisters.’ I don’t know – maybe it will maybe it won’t maybe I need a new computer!

    1. Steven, I’m publishing this in case anyone else is having the same problem as you. People if you are please let me know. It could be at my end.
      It’s a mystery, but that’s okay. Try WD40.
Thank you for your ‘like’ and visit anyway Steven.

      1. I didn’t have this problem because I am in the Reader but on a web browser my likes are rejected sometimes on some WordPress blogs..not sure why…
