Demented Confessions 6 – Owl Song

Owl Song

I fill the night with prophecies.

Do you hear her in my cry,

the oracle?

My nest is filled with tiny bones and skulls

and I will read your secret name in them

if you ask me for a song

and bring me sacrifice.

Art and Poem by Clinock.

Owl Song. 8″ x 8″ (20.32 x 20.32 cm). Mixed media relief in cradled panel.

  1. Hi John, I have a lot to catch up on! Is this composition made from found objects? It’s a thought provoking poem. Sorry I’ve been away for so long. All the best, Cheryl

  2. So lovely to hear from you Cheryl and please, no apology needed. I’ve been back on WP for some months now after my hiatus and am still trying to get around to reconnect with everyone, including your good self. Life speeds by! Yes, found and made objects: beads, yarn, formed and fired ceramics, tree bits, acrylic. During my time away I took a break from painting and revisited my interest in clay sculpture. This is still evolving…

  3. Hi John, sometimes a break from digital media allows us to refocus. Glad you’re back though 🙂 I’m looking forward to reading and seeing more of your work.

  4. My site is down for few days for a transfer process…but you will be most welcome when you do! You sparked a fascinating set of exchanges about the eclipse recently. Your sculpture left me feeling a little uneasy I must say. But the idea of suspended layers was clever. Your corner of the world is always interesting to visit John.
